A common problem in battery-powered systems is the loss of output power as the battery discharges. Output power must be reduced or limited to the level available at minimum battery voltage or distortion becomes unacceptable. Traditional Class-D amplifiers lose efficiency if they do not use output LC filters. Texas Instruments offers many Class-D amplifiers that are designated Filter-Free.
